Now that the holidays have come and gone, I am preparing to say goodbye to this year and hello to what’s next! As the New Year approaches, I am taking the time to reflect on the previous one and think ahead to what the next year might look like. It’s a thrill to think how much has changed in that amount of time. It can be a difficult task recalling some experiences and emotions, but the ritual is helpful to process what’s been going on and how I might change or improve upon it moving forward. Here are 20 ways I’m starting this new year off right. Would you care to join me?
1. Reflect on the past year. What triumphs and hiccups are worth remembering?
2. Write down five things you’re grateful for each week
3. Declutter your bedroom
4. Enjoy a face mask
5. Throw out all expired foods
6. Go outside
7. Do something creative
8. Donate any unwanted/unused items
9. Call a relative
10. Make homemade candles
11. Set an intention for each day
12. Re-read your favorite book
13. Cook an elaborate meal for yourself
14. Wash your face each night
15. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
16. Invest in your friendships
17. Do something nice for yourself
18. Enjoy some quiet time
19. Practice positive affirmations
20. Make a vision board for 2024
