As the weather starts to cool down and the sun sets earlier, it’s time to gather our best cozy garments and recipes, and bring out our favorite hygge-centered activities. From lighting a candle and diffusing a warming essential oil blend, to simmering a spice potpourri and tidying up with a seasonally scented nontoxic cleaner, there are many ways to prepare your home with a welcoming atmosphere. Here, we share two of our favorite cozy recipes to help you settle into the season.

In a bowl, mix together the citrus peel and spices. Boil a pot of water on the stove. Add 1–2 tablespoons of the potpourri to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to simmer the spices as long as desired. The water will evaporate, so be sure to add more water as needed. You may reuse the same spices a few times during the week before discarding. To gift, store the potpourri in a glass spice jar and add a label.
