This is my go-to recipe any time my skin feels off-balance. Apple cider vinegar has so many benefits, from clearing breakouts to soothing sunburns. It’s a balancer that brings calm and peace to your skin. Sometimes irritants in soaps or shampoo can destroy our skin’s mantle, causing it to go into extremes: too oily, too dry or red and irritated. Vinegar comes in and restores our pH back to its happy, natural state. And it doesn’t just stop there. The natural acids gently exfoliate your skin and unclog pores so your skin is brighter and more refreshed!
-Measuring bowl
-¼ cup water
-1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
-10 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
-2-oz. bottle/glass jar
In a measuring bowl, blend all of the ingredients together. Pour the mixture into a 2-oz bottle or repurpose a glass jar; make sure to sanitize it first with boiling water. Label the bottle with the product name and date.
To use, shake well and pour onto a cotton pad. Run it along your skin and focus on areas that are clogged or oily. Use this toner after cleansing and follow with a natural moisturizer. Vinegar is a natural preservative, so this solution will keep for one week.
Add essential oil for its skin benefits and therapeutic fragrance.
I suggest making a fresh batch once a week. If you have any left over, use it on your hair as a vinegar rinse.
