There’s something magical about a bath. After a long day at work, submerging yourself into that warm, welcoming water can be reviving. Enjoying the wonders of a milk bath is not only relaxing but benefits your body as well. Milk can provide smoother skin, soothe irritations, enhance relaxation, and improve the overall appearance of your skin. [1]
Since milk contains lactic acid, it can aid in the exfoliation of dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling fresh and smooth. It will also amplify moisture in your skin, because of the fats and proteins found in milk. Even when you’re done soaking in your soothing bath your skin will continue to produce extra moisture. Applying a hydrating lotion can help seal in the moisture for even longer.
If you suffer from skin irritation, such as eczema, you know this condition is not easy to get rid of. The proteins, whey and casein, that are found in milk as well as the amino acids, lactic acid and Vitamins A, D, and E all aid in the healing of eczema.[2]
Just add a few ingredients to the milk and watch as your body sinks into a blissful moment of relaxation and rejuvenation.
