bath salts

I am sensitive to smells and prone to headaches, both tension and migraines. Since my headaches are easily triggered by scents, I have to be careful with my bath and body products — no strong floral candles or scented lotions for me. There’s nothing like a bathtub soak to reduce stress and help ease tension in my body, so I decided to make my own bath salts without a crazy scent. The dried chamomile flowers and rosebuds with the Epsom salt provide the right amount of sensory stimulation without overpowering it. This recipe couldn’t be easier to make and only takes a few ingredients, yet it is packed with skin-care benefits. If you’re sensitive to smells like I am, I hope you enjoy this simple DIY and treat yourself to an at-home spa treatment.

This recipe was originally featured in Somerset Life Summer 2018

A good cup of tea can be a fully immersive experience — the taste, the smell, the feel of the mug in your hands — it’s like a warm hug for your soul! I mean, seriously, I could bathe in it … wait, I could! I could totally bathe in it! All I needed to do was create some tub tea. I wanted it to smell delicious and be as much of a treat as a bath bomb with all its fizzy fun and luxurious feel. I experimented with a few techniques and recipes. After a little trial and error, my Bubble Tea Bath Bombs were born.
