Here in Southern California, we’ve already experienced a few warm days, which has me looking forward to spring’s arrival. My family enjoys spending time outside as well as finding ways to bring the outdoors in with colorful flowers and homegrown fruits and vegetables. As the weather heats up and we start to spend more time out in the sunshine, it’s fun to make a to-do list with a variety of activities. Below is my dreamy spring to-do list for this year, and although spring hasn’t officially begun, I’ve already crossed a couple items off the list.

Every time I’m cooking, I imagine bath and body recipe potential in every spice and ingredient I use. Inevitably after a large meal prep, there are scraps of ingredients left over here and there that either cannot be put back into the spice bottle or infused into another meal. It absolutely kills me to waste food, even though we religiously compost, so I try to use every scrap for other purposes before surrendering it back into the ground.

Essential oils can be used to soothe and help heal many ailments, and they are a great resource for relieving pain. Specific oils treat certain types of pain naturally without causing uncomfortable side effects that sometimes come with medications. Here, we’ve broken down which oils are best to use when targeting each type of pain. Make sure to properly dilute the essential oil with a carrier oil before applying to skin.

As the new year takes shape, I often feel the urge to sort, organize, and purge my belongings. The start of the year is great for cleaning out the fridge and pantry, reorganizing the laundry room, donating unwanted clothing and other items, and tossing old toiletries. There’s something about a fresh start that invigorates me. Since clutter can stress me out, these simple tasks work wonders.
