As I plan and tend my garden, I like to keep in mind what each plant type can be used for — both practically and aesthetically — to make my life simpler and easier. There’s nothing quite like being able to pick fresh basil for the pizza I’m making for dinner, snip cilantro for breakfast tacos, or make a floral bouquet from my own selection. Many garden varieties can also be used in your homemade bath and body recipes, from scrubs and facial steams, to bath salts, salves, and hydrosols. Here, I’ve included my top 20 homegrown plants to utilize in my skin-care products.
